To calculate the carbon footprint of a fleet, you need access to annual fuel consumption information for each vehicle in the fleet.<br \/>\nCalculate the carbon emissions of fleet vehicles: Diesel vehicles: Multiply the number of liters of diesel by 2.63 and divide by 1,000. Gasoline vehicles: Multiply the number of liters of gasoline by 2.32 and divide by 1,000.<br \/>\nArmed with this knowledge, you can set the emissions reduction targets you wish to achieve and a timetable for achieving them. First, reduce emissions by a set percentage each year.<br \/>\nGoing green through fleet management: Drivers need to adopt greener driving styles. Stable and smooth driving is not only more environmentally friendly, but also more fuel-efficient. Don&#039;t speed or brake hard in heavy traffic.<br \/>\nChoose less polluting vehicles for your fleet \u2013 Promote vehicles with low CO2 emissions.<br \/>\nVehicles require regular maintenance; poorly maintained vehicles consume more fuel and produce higher emissions.<br \/>\nAnalyze and record business travel so you can identify opportunities to reduce mileage.<br \/>\nIndividual fuel consumption needs to be recorded to encourage energy-efficient driving.<br \/>\nTo enable drivers to avoid congestion and use the most efficient routes, promote technologies such as satellite navigation and fleet management.<br \/>\nAlternatives to business travel (e.g. phone\/video conferencing) should be considered as possible alternatives.<br \/>\nImplementing a green fleet policy doesn\u2019t have to be difficult.
